I'm a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum award-winning songwriter and producer. I'm born and raised in Kansas City, and have lived and worked in Los Angeles for the past 18 years. I started my musical career as an artist myself as part of a family group with my brothers. I grew up playing 5 instruments, singing, dancing, writing, and producing all of our music. I've had the opportunity to produce music for a multitude of different artists in many genres including Keyshia Cole, Nicky Jam, Dina Jane, and more. I have experience working in TV, sync licensing, film, and commercials. I've also had the privilege of working alongside some of the industry's top producers including P. Diddy, Timbaland, Maffio, Brian Kennedy, Kuk Harrell, and Hit Bangaz. My skills include production, beat making, vocal production, editing, mixing, songwriting, and I could even sing your background or lead vocals. Whatever your vision for your project let's make it happen!

Endorse Davix ForemanIf you’re looking for a person who genuinely listens and sees you as the artist you are, who pushes you to places you never thought you could go, then Davix Foreman is your man. In the handful of sessions we have had, Davix encouraged and guided me as a singer to dig DEEP. One session with him actually moved me to tears (good ones). I had reached a place of empowerment and fearlessness, and for that I am forever grateful. Davix’s tremendous talent, charisma, attention to detail, and great love for life and music are what made working with him such a beautiful experience. THANK U DAVIX X
Working with Davix was a great experience! His knowledge on songwriting and coaching was spot on. Made me into a great artist and helped me come into my own. Strongly recommend anyone to have that experience with him.
Davix is a true creative. He is always, at all times, about making great music. The first time we worked together, I knew that he was special. He made my voice sound stellar in the track, the way I wanted to hear it. Davix is an inspired producer who can sing or play exactly what he wants to communicate. He gets a vibe from whatever I bring to him, in whatever phase of development the song is in, and comes with whatever is necessary to bring it to it's fruition. He has done BGs and instrumental arrangements and mastering for my projects, and they are totally inspired, amazingly perfect! -SW
“Davix possesses such a wide spectrum of knowledge & skill in production, performance, music& film;there’s no job he can’t get done. His layered Background & “Hands on“ experience lends greatly to his unique sound & authentic approach.Zen natured, He listens & doesn’t project his own goals & feelings onto the product, commending personal expression &freeing the session/project of any unrealistic or outside pressures. While Music is a universal language, Davix knows how to bring the best out of your personal voyage and make it all JAM, at the same time!”
I've worked with Davix for a number of years in many capacities (mixing, production, vocal producing & tracking) & would highly recommend him! One of my fav people to work with and will always take your mixes to the next level! Most recently tracked a bunch of vocals and his studio and had a great experience and felt encouraged even on my off days. 100% recommend!
Working with Davix has been nothing but a positive experience. Davix has always given me a safe pace to grow in and the patience to do so. He continuously pushes me as an artist and singer and I am so grateful for that. I have travelled from Ontario, Canada to work with him on multiple occasions and every penny was always worth it. There are no limits to his creativity and passion for music and the artist he works with. I am blessed to know him, work with him, and can’t wait to get back in the studio with him again.
Davix is absolutely my favorite go to person for everything when it comes to my vocals, engineering and producing. I’ve worked with him for 4 years and counting. He just has such a great ear and knows exactly what needs to be done without having to say anything. Davix has a huge musical background making it much easier and smoother recording vocals because you get such a diverse perspective which is exactly what you need especially when you don’t know exactly what it’s missing. He makes you feel so comfortable and like there’s no rush which always brings out the best in me. 100% recommend.
Davix Foreman and I have worked on almost my entire album and he has had many roles including producing, writing, engineering but also mentoring. He has ears that you can trust, a work portfolio that speaks for itself and that’s why we flew him to Jamaica to finish the body of work from our home and we are so happy we did; he is set up a portable studio, delivers excellent engineering and is a great conversationalist and nice guy to be around. I highly recommend Davix Foreman to be on any professional artists team.
Davix is the man, we recently got to together to work on my new EP and I must say I have yet to come across a better vocal producer or mixing engineer. He will make your music come to life. Not to mention he is a beast at producing beats also. Super talented guy and I trust his ears. I highly recommend Davix.
I have had the honor of working with Davix on several tracks, including some for tv/movie placements and for my own platform. The process from beginning to end is always amazing and productive, I always leave the studio so energized & excited about what he creates! As far as vocal production, I feel pushed in a positive way to hit my full potential vocally when I work with him. He has a great spirit and energy, and genuinely wants to see his artists WIN.
He IS THE BEST PRODUCER /ENGINEER IN THE WORLD.
Davix, so many great things To say I don’t even know where to start. What a Multi versatile creative As far as producing, writing, and I love his vocal production and just his all-around energy is very open, encouraging and uplifting he makes you feel like you can do anything even on your worst days as a singer which is so important as a creative to keep your clients adrenaline and inspiration on a high. And that’s one of the things I really love about creating and working with him because he can lift your spirits up or turn whatever your energy is into a song and he instinctively knows.
I couldn’t have had a better experience working with Davix. He is so kind and has an amazing energy, AND he’s insanely talented. He is extremely detail oriented, and also a great hang and brings out the best in everyone. He is hands down the beat vocal producer I have ever worked with, and I plan to work with him on my next album.
My music never sounds as polished or professional as it does when Davix is involved. He is a world class vocal producer, and knows how to push me to sound my best while honoring the uniqueness and colors of my voice. He's a fantastic writer, producer, and vocal producer. You truly will be hard pressed to find someone with as much skill and talent as Davix!
Interview with Davix Foreman
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that I get to collaborate with some of my mentors, idols, peers, and a network of creatives all across the world. I love that my job takes me to different places to be with different people around the world.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that an engineer and I are the same, and operate in the same way, and that's not true at all. Because I'm a musician and vocalist, I operate and run ProTools from THAT perspective so that every move isn't about numbers and technical. It's about feeling. Sometimes engineers can be very stale in a recording environment but working with someone who's a musician/producer that just so happens to run ProTools can mean a world of difference.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It's ok to not have everything in order and together; that's what I"m here for. Just make sure we have the ProTools files or stems.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure kick, snare/clap and vocal are all hitting at the same level and should be what you hear mostly when you play your song very low. And whatever is being recorded..... Sing it with feeling!!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on most things urban. So we have RnB, Hip-Hop, Trap, Rap, Pop, Country, Latin, Reggaeton, Afrobeat, Alternative Rock, Religious music, and whatever is a challenge.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I approach a record a few different ways depending on what exactly it is that I need to accomplish. If its vocal production I usually have the artist or vocalist sing it down for me once or twice for me or the both of us to learn it and then if I want to warm the vocalist up I start with backgrounds, if there are any. Then we chop down the song in sections. Usually, about 8 bars at a time, and I usually am comping as we go so that by the end we can have something to listen to with the option to exchange takes for others. If I'm called in to produce a track also I usually either have something pre-made that would fit the objective. Or I just start from scratch on the keys with an idea or beat. Then after we create something we both can vibe on the writing and recording process begins. I try to work the vocalist until we get the arrangement of the song down. I don't and won't usually go past 4 hours with a vocalist because that's when the voice starts to become a little tired. Once I feel we have most of everything I wanted to capture I then begin the balancing and mixing process. Afterward, I may modify the track to cater even more to detail.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was able to land my artist a featured artist project with Extreme Music that consisted of 9 songs that will be synced for life. Its called God Flow. Check it out at ExtremeMusic.com
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Music for TV/film sync projects and a few artists in development for some labels.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh, Tiffany Redd and Fenyx Rose
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I wish analog but we got digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You're going to love the way you sound.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "How did you get my vocals to sound like that?" And I might reply with something like, "It's always just a matter of finding those colors in your voice and letting them shine."
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are the goals for this project? What are their goals for their career? Deadline? What type of budget are we working with?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, UAD Apollo Twin, Townsend Mic, Ableton Push and my headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Music has always been my career path but I've been professionally producing music in Los Angeles for 20 yrs.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Very open, unpredictable, free and clean.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Party Next Door, Ellie Gould, Social House, and more. I feel like we make similar productions naturally.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I pride myself on bringing out a stellar, competitive vocal performance with a client. Artists always leave and come back feeling like they've learned something and elevated their recording game. Vocal production is where my career nitch has taken me.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring about the finishing elements to a song. I find what it's missing, what it's lacking and I rectify that by any means necessary. I'll bring dynamic, clarity, and sensibility. Because I play 5 instruments and sing I can bring a unique perspective on how to execute a phrase and make sense of challenging moments.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Simple plug and play setup with the UAD (Universal Audio) Apollo 8 at the core. Townsend Sphere Labs mic Adam A7Xs for playback. And guitars and basses at my disposal.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, David Foster, Babyface, Teddy Riley, Timbaland, the Neptunes, Tim & Bob, Dre & Vidal, Max Martin, Phil Tan,
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Overall record production. Vocal production and genre fusion. Most clients call me in to vocal produce their project from start to finish which garnishes a unique consistent sound if they don't need instrumental tracks. I collaborate with many to curate a project from start to finish whether it be a single or album.
