Part two of our collaboration: Elodie's voice has direct access to the emotional regions of my brain. I've never experienced anything like this. The amazing thing is that she can sing a simple dance song as well as a super soulful ballad. Highly recommended.

P.S.: To Céline, Christina, Aretha, Ellie, Mariah … and the other choir girls: I am contented here, I won`t bother you any more for a common song project.

There aren't many places further apart than Munich and Australia, but I've never felt so close to an artist collaborating. Elodie's voice and musicality is beyond discussion and simply phenomenal.
This project with Elodie alone was enough of a reason for soundbetter.com to be founded (if you catch my drift)

Elodie was terrific from the first moment we talked. Super creative and easy to work with. Amazing writing skills and her voice is absolutely fantastic - angelic, beautiful - and with so much emotion. A true pro! I really can't wait to finalize the mix and release the track. Her lyrics, melody and voice absolutely took this project to the next level!

Elodie was great to work with. She understood what I was trying to do with my song and made suggestions that greatly improved it. She was easy to communicate with and clear about what she could deliver. She delivered the job on time! . It was a pleasure to work with her.

It doesn't get better than this for vocals. Elodie's voice can be gentle, sweet, a belting powerhouse, or growling emotions. She did all four on my track! She delivered on time, and with professional results. In a business with so many flakey singers, it's refreshing to work with someone like Ellie. In short: a delight to work with, delivers great vocals, and is on time. I'm one happy songwriter!

Elodie Adams - WOAH! Incredibly powerful vocal for my song, "Melt My Chains"! So impressed with the emotion and commitment of her performance! Not only would I highly recommend Elodie Adams for any future vocal work, but I also predict a huge career for this great artist! She knocked me out, mate!!!

I hired Elodie to sing the vocals on my song Blue and she did an absolute amazing job! Her voice is so flexible and suits lots of music. I was so impressed with her vocal control and ability on my track! She is just if not better than the Celine Dions and the Mariah Carey's and it will only be a matter of time before she is discovered by the world! She is also very accommodating when it comes to doing your song; I would highly recommend her to anyone !! She will keep editing until you are satisfied which is really important when you are working online.[

Can't rave about Elodie enough! Working together was a wonderful experience. The song she wrote over my track was better than I could have imagined! The melody line she wrote was beautiful and suited my song perfectly. I love her voice, it transformed my song in to something truly special. Exceeded expectations! Highly recommend.

Interview with Elodie Adams

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I recently worked with a producer from a record label in LA. He had a very specific vision for the song and wanted to direct me during the recording process. We did the recording session via a Zoom call using Sessionwire. The producer was extremely happy with the vocal I recorded, and sent me a little present all the way to Australia to say thank you. It was so touching!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My original album! Nothing like writing and producing your own songs from scratch :)

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I often work with an amazing engineer called Alex Krotz. Highly recommend him for anything you need mixed.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. I love listening to music that was recorded on analog gear, but the majority of musicians work from home studios now without access to all of that amazing gear. I do not think there would be as much work out there if we still relied so heavily on the analog recording process.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will deliver the sound you want, within your deadline. I'm super professional and reliable to work with. I'm great at communication, so you can trust me to deliver.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I am a music nerd, and genuinely enjoy learning new vocal techniques. So, I enjoy being challenged as a vocalist and applying a wide variety of techniques to a song.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you sing this song and sound like singer XYZ? My answer is, so long as it's not R&B vocal acrobatics like Mariah Carey, I can do it.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I can only sing "loud" or in a "belting" style. I can sing softly, airily and breathy just as well as I can sound loudly!

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What one of my recordings did you vibe the most with? D Do you have any references of other singers you could hear on your track? What emotions do you feel best capture the song you have written?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Listen to multiple examples of work done by a singer, to see if they have experience performing the type of vocal you're after. References are always excellent. The more informed you are the better the outcome for both the singer and producer.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: How would any gear work on a deserted island if there was no electricity? Is this a trick question!! I guess the first thing would be a magical never-ending power generator!

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started vocal training when I was 10 years old, and continued with lessons all through college. I have worked professionally as a singer for over 10+ years. I really know how to use my voice to the highest standard.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Expressive, lyrical, dynamic, dripping with raw emotion

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Trent Reznor. I really respect and admire his "ears". The way he is able to craft huge soundscapes, and know how to combine certain elements, is truly one of a kind.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Organize your session otherwise comping will be a nightmare!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Ballads, epic film soundtrack, big energetic, EDM, soft acoustic or aggressive rock.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My arsenal of vocal techniques. I know what my voice is capable of and I have full control over what my voice can do. I find this allows me to work in many different genres easily.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I can convey pure, raw emotion, by really letting go and nailing the feeling of a lyric. Not a lot of other singers have the confidence to go as deep as I do. I really enjoy the process of losing myself in a song.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I like to get any references from a client first, to make sure we're on the same page. Discuss any sounds they're looking for, eg "breathy, powerful" etc Of course, if they would prefer me to let loose and "go for it" I am happy to accommodate that as well! If possible, and depending on the genre, I like to rehearse a song first, then nail the recording in a few takes.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Logic Pro X Rode K2 Microphone PreSonus Studio Channel Vacuum Tube Mic Preamp/ Comp/ EQ Steinberg UR12 USB Audio Interface

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Trent Reznor, Ed Bellamy, David Foster, Maynard James Keenan, Celine Dion,

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Epic, powerful, emotive ballads... nailing the "high notes". Aggressive, screamy rock. Energetic EDM. Soft, whispery, breathy, acoustic tracks. I can capture any vibe you throw at me. Bring it on! :)
