He is nice guy, who knows good what means is "Australian sound".
Have worked with Matt on multiple occasions and couldnt rate him or his work higher. Incredible communicator, amazing producer and an all round calming presence in the studio. Absolute pleasure to collaborate with and would recommend to anyone big or small!
Matt is great to work with. He mixed the last Retiree record and a bunch of other singles. He is an excellent mixing and mastering engineer. We love his ability to turn around crispy mixes that don’t lose the analogue warmth of our instrumentation and production. We consistently work with him because of this, and also because he is an easy going legend who is a pleasure to work with, easily understands our ideas and helps us achieve them
Thanks Matt :)
Matt is an excellent person to work with. He has mixed two of my albums, an EP and a string of singles from my catalogue. On top of his top-notch technical ability in audio engineering, Matt is a great communicator. He is able give constructive feedback and make helpful suggestions, whilst showing care and understanding for your artistic vision. In an industry which can make female musicians feel patronised and small, Matt is a respectful and talented collaborator who I can trust. Not only does he have the song's best interests at heart, but also the artists he works with. A legend!
Matt was an absolute dream to work with! Great communication and so easy to get along with. He's got an amazing eye (or should I say ear) for details. He mixed and mastered a compilation for us which brought together a really diverse group of artists and genres. He was able to bring it all together into a cohesive release for us! What a legend!
Matt is such a tasteful mixer. I got to know him through my friend Evan Klar and am so happy about that introduction. Love his style, his first touches on a song, that are always super intuitive and add something to the song, a freshness, something you hadn’t heard in the song before. His mix for my first Single „State of My Life“ blew me away. Also he‘s such a nice and chill guy, totally looking forward to continue the work with you xx
Working with Matt was an absolute joy. He's got such a great ear, great gear and attention to detail. There is a lot of love in Matt's mixes and it shows. He's also incredibly easy to work with and one of the nicest folks around.
As a producer I feel lucky to have found Matt. He's done all my mixes this past year and has become the only engineer I fully trust with my stems. He's also the most chill wonderful dude ever🌠
Such an attentive and quick mixer. The care that has been put into every mix I have received is outstanding. Highly highly recommend.

Interview with Matthew Hadley
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I co-wrote, recorded, produced and mixed Total Giovanni's debut album. It took 4 years to complete and was one of the most intense and rewarding experiences of my life.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Lots of mixes!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yoad Nevo is great.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital mostly. It's far more convenient and works well for modern budgets and deadlines.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's fun and creative.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q:Can I have an instrumental version as well. A: Yes.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have any song references? What's the deadline? Who's mastering?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you're happy with how the song is sounding before sending it over to me. Check that all the takes and recordings are good, everything is in time and in tune and then methodically bounce and label the stems.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, guitar, drum machine, microphone and sh101.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began playing guitar when I was 12 years old and became obsessive. Then I began playing in bands in my 20s, while also studying music composition and technology. This evolved into a career as a mix engineer and producer.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work within an exciting production and songwriting hub in Melbourne. My studio has great acoustics. I work mostly in the box with a bit of outboard fun.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Serve the song and the artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll chat with the artist at length and listen to their music and references. I'll then receive stems, start mixing and send first mix/master back within two day. The client will then send notes, and we'll go back and forth until the song is perfect!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll serve your vision and the song above all else.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Dynamic and musical.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: LCD Soundsystem, Kindness, Daft Punk, LA Priest, Tirzah and so many more!

A: Pop, indie and dance music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Tuning into and respecting the vision for the song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A sensitivity to the artist and producer's vision. I aim to be faithful to what they are trying to achieve. I also work quickly and stick to deadlines.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Phillipe Zdar, Tom Elmhirst, David Byrne, David Bowie, LCD Soundsystem....too many to name!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing, mastering, production and sound design.
