Having developed an ear for the fine details that set excellent records apart from the rest as an assistant to 5x Grammy Winner Eric Schilling (Alicia Keys) and 4x Grammy-winner Dave Way (Twenty One Pilots, TLC, Dear Evan Hansen), I am dedicated to helping artists maximize the potential of their recordings.
Prior to mixing an artist's song, I strive maximize the potential of the recordings through vocal tuning and alignment.
Vocal tuning and timing play in integral role in shaping the modern, polished sound so many artists strive for.
I tune, align, comp, and edit vocals with a dedication to helping artists achieve that sound.
I take a surgical, manual approach to vocals and prioritize the artist's creative vision for his or her work.
This paves the way for the part of the process I most enjoy - the mix. Whether in stereo, Atmos, or Sony 360, my aim is to create space for each element of the song to shine.
I'd love to hear your music and start a conversation about the vision for your project.

Interview with DJ Battle
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: In 2020, I wrote, produced, and recorded my own EP. Seeing my own vision come to life inspired me to leverage my gifts toward helping artists do the same.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Assuming all cables are included, I would take a specced out MacBook Pro with all plug-ins loaded into it, an Apollo Twin, a Telefunken 251, a Sony C-800G, and a pair of PMC 8-2 monitors. Honestly living on an island with these things sounds ideal.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began producing in GarageBand as a 5th grader. By 8th grade I was recording and editing in Pro Tools. After over 15 years of home recording growing up, I stepped into the professional recording world with my own EP in 2020. That's when I fell in love with the process of doing the little things to make a home recording sound polished and professional. After assisting the engineer who mixed my project and mixing vocals for the likes of Aaron Cole, I transitioned to assisting Dave Way and Eric Schilling.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Attention to detail. I am committed to every millisecond of every song I play a part in and will go above and beyond to help a recording achieve its potential.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: If I'm in the studio, I'm in a Dolby Atmos room with 7 x Neumann KH 420 mains, 2 x Neumann KH 870 subwoofers, and 5 x Neumann KH 310 height speakers as well as 4 x Neumann KH 120 height, and 3 x JBL 6328 lows. My home setup is completely in the box featuring a plethora of plugins from Universal Audio, FabFilter, Waves, and many other great plugin companies. Almost all of the mixers I look up to work entirely in the box with the same tools and techniques.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I listen to a wide array of genres and consequently have lots of influences. One recent example is Illangelo's work on The Weeknd's After Hours album. He took such an intentional and manual approach to each sound. I can tell when a producer or an engineer is cutting corners and am inspired by those that go above and beyond to set their work apart.
