Una is a prolific singer-songwriter and with that skill, she has developed amazing production abilities. She has an amazing ear and is really fun to collaborate with! The back of forth dynamic is so crucial to produce the best track possible.
Una! What else needs to be said. I’ve been in the industry for a long time & we all know that the ‘men’ control it. Una deff holds her own & knows everything & more to the process. Her mind musically, creatively, etc., is amazing! Love working with her 🙏🏾🖤
Una is not just talented and beautiful, but extremely professional and hardworking. In sessions “she plays to the room” bringing out the best in artists she works with and giving her all when she’s makin her original music. With each release she shows growth and maturity not only in her songwriting but production style. A must listen!
I've worked with Una multiple times, and the output is always incredible. Production, engineering, writing, performing, she does it all with ease. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more professional, talented artist.
Una is a true triple threat--a fantastic songwriter, powerhouse singer, and a skilled producer. I have co-written with Una several times and am blown away by how quickly and skillfully she works. She is amazing. Whether she's behind the mic, on the console, or brainstorming lyrics and melodies, she rocks. And she's so easy to work with. I highly recommend her.

Interview with Una Jensen
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will put my heart into whatever we're working on.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The human beings i get to meet and become friends with!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When I'm available to work on the next project! It varies (:
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That its easy. Writing is something that comes from a really private part of my soul and i put a lot into everything i work on. I've spent over 10 years honing my vocal abilities and it's a lot of work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask for reference tracks, what their workflow is like, what their goals are with the project, I ask what their favorite burrito is, if they like the Deftones...
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Reach out and be friendly! We're all stoked to be creating with you!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, My JBLs, My neumann, the nord, the nord case cause that thing could double as shelter...
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a professional song writer since i was 12 years old. My father owned a studio in our home town of massachusetts. I would be invited to sessions and would write with and for other people and myself. I was signed and touring by 14 as an artist. I moved to LA at 17 with my best friend/ guitarist and started an artist development company. Ran myself and my body into the ground working my ass off, and decided to take off all the hats and just wear one...or two.. Here we are!!!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: ...Fashion wise, my style is whatever fits my bottom half and whatever is comfortable on top... but make it fashion? Music wise, I love sexy and falsetto vocals. But i also love upbeat and fun vocals too...
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Charlie puth. Because he's charlie puth.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Eat a burrito. It works.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually am hired for pop/r&b tracks.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocal melodies are definitely my strongest skill. Vocals in general.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring an emotional (whether that's sassy, sexy, or heartfelt) vocal, strong lyrics, and an incredibly catchy melody.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'm pretty quick. If i'm working start to finish on a song, track, and topline/vocal melody and lyric- I will finish all within a 10 hour day. I get in the zone and cannot be stopped (besides the occasional burrito break).
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Eastlake LA is a small studio in Granada Hills. I own it with Enoch Jensen(renowned mixing engineer: i.e. Rolling Stones), and Justin Fleuriel (Mastering Engineer: i.e. IT soundtrack). We have a long list of rad gear. Of course my favorite is our Neumann U67!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm extremely inspired by charlie puth. His writing abilities, his production style... i wanna be the female charlie puth!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I most often am hired for topline, vocal production, and writing work. I love to perform, comp, and edit vocals so they sound incredible. I also produce for a number of artists.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I dropped 2 albums in 2020 and i'm extremely proud of both. I wrote, produced, performed, and engineered all of the songs and they all (imo) are BOPS!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on producing and cowriting albums for a few artists that i'm obsessed with, and gearing up to release some music with adrian young of no doubt!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Krysta Youngs is INCREDIBLE, and extremely helpful!
