STUDIO-QUALITY DRUMS & PERCUSSION | TIGHT, ENERGETIC PERFORMANCES Full drum recordings including multitracks, MIDI, and percussion that'll bring your music to life!

Hi, I’m Michael Farina, drummer, producer, and founder of Noisemaker Sound Co. in Toronto. I’ve spent over 15 years recording and touring across North America, and now I focus on creating professional drum and percussion tracks for artists worldwide. My setup features Roland VAD drums, Superior Drummer, Logic Pro X, Universal Audio interfaces, UAD & Slate plugins, and analogue drum machines, giving me a wide range of tones and flexibility. In addition to full drum performances, I also provide percussion overdubs such as tambourines, shakers, bongos, and other hand percussion to add depth and groove to your music.

With every project, you’ll receive multitrack audio, a stereo drum mix, MIDI files, and two revisions to make sure the drums sit perfectly in your track. I specialize in Rock and Pop, but I’m comfortable working across many genres and always aim to serve the song. You can hear examples of my playing and production style on my Apple Music demo reel, and see more of my work on Instagram @noisemakersoundco. I’d love to collaborate and bring the right energy, sound, and feel to your project.

Michael is very professional. He can come up with great ideas of his own or perform ideas that you've mapped out for him. I really appreciated his willingness to do several takes until I felt it was right. I've really enjoyed working with him and definitely will again!

Michael was communicative his entire time, updating me on tracking and how it was going. Asking about any changes that need to be made and his ending result was fantastic. Supplying me with a already mixed drum track and the RAW. He goes above and beyond in all ways.

My collaborations with Michael continue, and he never disappoints. Michael understood the concept really well and he was able to put his own signature sound which elevates the song.

I knew I needed to work again with Michael and his powerful drums right after our first collaboration! He definitely delivered beyond what I was expecting, he provided a very versatile and high-quality sound and really understood the vibe I was looking for, taking my work again to the next level. The tracks for these 3 new songs came in really fast and surprised me in a very good way - I really recommend working with Michael, and I am looking forward to collaborate with him in the future!

Interview with Michael Farina

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Don't be afraid to try every possibility, even if it feels wrong, or that you're breaking some rules. It might be what a song needs. Sometimes great parts sound terrible on their own but perfect in an ensemble.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: I want to give you drums that have a unique character. Something that another drummer might not offer you. Everyone has their strengths and weakness and I want to give you the very best of myself. Drums that are musical, dynamic, that serve the song, while retaining their own personality are my goal, every time.

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: Anyone who cares about making the best music they can is an inspiration to me. Whether it's someone in their bedroom, a commercial studio or somewhere in between.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: Generally, my main role for a session is to send mix-ready multitracks of the best possible performance. Lately, the genres that tend to "come through my door" are rock, indie-rock, pop-rock, alt-rock, alt-pop and metal.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: Once you’ve sent me your music and we’ve discussed your vision for the production, I’ll choose drums, cymbals and other sounds that I feel are right for the song. From there I’ll record three takes and send them over to you alongside one-shot samples from the session as well as a reference mix of one of the takes. If I nailed it, then great! If not, let’s discuss what worked and what didn’t and I’ll send you any revisions you feel are needed.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: I like to chat first, before setting up a session. It's not always easy to know who the right guy is for the job, and sometimes, that might not be me, and thats cool. I'm always honest, and if there's something I feel like I'm not right for, I'll tell you. Let's chat first, let me hear some of your music, let's get on the same page, and then nail it!
