Griffter on SoundBetter

Worked on productions with Grammy-winning producers and award-winning songwriters. I do composing, full track arrangements, top-lining, and mixing. And now, I'd like to work with you! As an independent artist myself, I understand the ups and downs of making music, so I want to bring as much value and quality to you as I can.

Hey there! I'd love to hear what you're working on & if I can bring it to life! My goal is to take your song beyond the sketch of chords and lyrics. I want to create something that captures your fans into a moment in time where your message is the only thing they think about. I can also provide background vocals if the song calls for it and top-lining.

Whether you have a short demo, or want a fully crafted-from-scratch song, I'll be able to help you walk through the process and accomplish each step, together.

For complete terms and conditions contact me and we can take it from there.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Griffter

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: If you're looking for a singer, definitely Jessie Wagner. She wrote amazing lyrics for a song I produced and has some powerful ass vocals!

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I love digital as I travel a lot and produce on the road. But there is something so organic and fun playing with analog gear. The curiosity and excitement of playing with physical instruments!

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: That I'll work to get them the sound they want/are looking for and to prioritize the song before anything else

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: The adventure. The adventure of creating something that will take listeners on an emotional journey, capturing the feeling of working with passionate artists, going into the unknown, and creating something in the moment that's shared with others. I love working with people and I love getting to know them, and through collaborating with artists, I've gotten that fullfilment.

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: How much time will this take? My answer is usually: Depends Why? There are a number of things... Scheduling, how much is already done on the singer/writers side, will I have to compose, write and produce, there are a number of things. I try to work as fast and diligently as possible so that my client has exactly what they need.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: - What are your influences/who did you listen to growing up? - What are you currently listening to? - What's your favorite song at the moment? - How are you feeling? This is only the shortlist. I always want to get to know my clients, see what their interests are and what they're feeling at the moment. If a client comes to me with a sketch of a song, I want to listen to them explain their vision and see where I can make it come to life. So asking these questions usually lead to more questions that are unique to the convo. Lets just shoot the shit and see if we can make magic

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Make sure to be very open about what you want and trust your producer. I think being a music producer is about getting to know and vibe with the client/artist. For me, I want to know what's been on your mind, I want to know what's your mood been in the past few days. I want to try and capture lightning when I feel it and that only happens with you're open with me. We can spend hours vibing and create a jam in 45 minutes!

  15. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  16. A: Currently, due to the pandemic, I moved out of my studio and purchased a mobile setup sooooo. It would be My 2019 Macbook Pro i9 (MAXED), Beherdynamic 880 Pro Headphones, Apollo Twin X Thunderbolt 3, Shure SM7B w/ Cloudlifter, AND my 4TB SSD. Of course all of this gear would magically upgrade if I were to be there for more than 1 year!

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Ryan Tedder, the man is just a great writer and singer

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: Worry about quantity, quality will be right behind, stay patient.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Electronic, Hip Hop, Indie Dance

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Catchy melodies, definitely catchy melodies

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: My musical intuition is pretty spot on. I think growing up listening to every genre and being a music nerd has polished my intuition into something that can't be replicated

  27. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  28. A: Currently in a mobile studio set-up with Macbook Pro I9 processor, Apollo Twin X dual core, Beherydynamics 880 Pro, Sonarworks Reference 4.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: Oak Felder, Don Diablo, Ryan Tedder, Jessie J, Sia

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I love building on an idea with looping and constantly adding what comes to mind at the moment. I'll then add and take away from the song as needed. I believe the music should be as dynamic as the moments that create them.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: Taking client ideas and creating fully fleshed-out songs. Let me take an idea in your head and put my spin on it to see what magic we can create!
