Drummer, producer, and engineer with over 10 years of experience in ccm/indie/punk/metal music.
Hey! My name is Colin and I'm a session drummer, producer, and mixing engineer based out of Birmingham, AL!
I will record and edit quality drum tracks for your song all from my home studio. I'm happy to work with whatever inspiration, references, or styles you are going for! My goal is to serve your song the best I can by providing an excellent performance and sound that will exceed your vision.
I bring a strong songwriting and production mindset to every song I work on. With over 15 years of drumming experience and more than a decade of recording and producing, I’ve learned to approach music from a big-picture perspective. Whether I’m behind the kit or in the producer’s chair, I focus on what the song is trying to communicate and how each element contributes to that goal. I think that broader view gives me an edge. I’m not just thinking about the drums, but how the entire arrangement can serve the music as a whole.
My live drum recording services include recording, editing, processing, drum samples, and percussion overdubs/loops if wanted.

Interview with Colin Brewton
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To provide you with an end product that exceeds your expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to do what I love!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are some reference songs or bands/artists sounds you're trying to go for? Would you like real or programmed drums? Do you want a tight, quantized drum sound or a more raw live performance?
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Dynamic. With my wide rang of music taste, I can go from the lightest grooves to the heaviest hitting breakdowns.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: The music I've recorded on the most would be the Worship/CCM genre. Besides that, I've recorded plenty of punk, rock, and metal since I've played those the longest!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Aaron Sterling, Eric Valentine, Nolly Getgood, Dan McMurray, J. Adam Wesley
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I typically do session drum work! Most of the time I'm recording for peoples songs, but I've also gotten to do some commercial work with companies like Orlando Health, Landing, Valvoline, and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a strong songwriting and production mindset to every song I work on.
