Cole Nystrom is a Multi-Platinum, Award Winning Mixing & Recording Engineer based in the heart of Los Angeles CA. Working on artist projects such as Michael Jackson, Macy Gray, Chrisette Michele, Earth Wind & Fire, Alexandra Stan, Jessie Reyez, Snoop Dogg, Sum 41, Bob Marley, Trinidad James, Peaches and countless other artist over the years.
Cole's approaches each song individually. He feels that every song is different and has different elements, production, and emotions. "Each song is a piece of art and we have to figure out the best way to display the piece." This is how Cole thinks of each song.
He has a hybrid workflow, utilizing the best of the digital world as well as using some of the best combination of vintage and modern gear. Gear such as vintage LA-3A's, LA-2A's, 610's 1176's, Neve Style Channel Strips, SSL Channel Strips, Maag Channel Strips, Pul Tec EQ's, Burl Converters and too much incredible gear to list that is used on every mix.
Cole's workflow allows him to use a bunch of great analog gear for mixing and recording, but also has it set in a way where your song is recalled perfect every time. No more long waits for recalls or finally getting those recalls and it sounds like a different mix. Cole does everything possible to make sure the recording and/or mixing process goes as smooth as possible.
