Session Cellist

A creative cellist recording/performing for artists such as Corinne Bailey-Rae, Lewis Capaldi, Sting, Brand New Heavies, Rag 'n' Bone Man, Jersey Street, Rufus Wainwright, Damon Albarn, The Ting Tings, Katie Melua, Elbow and Cherry Ghost. Simon enjoys a varied freelance career in Orchestra, Opera, Theatre, Recording and Session work.

Simon is a friendly, highly regarded cellist loving life up North in Manchester. Having graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music he has established himself as a freelance cellist, performing all over the world. Highlights include tours to Japan, China and South Korea and performing Solo Cello with Sting in Baden-Baden with a concert in Paris at the Salle Pleyel. Regular live performances as part of BBC Proms and most recently joining The Phantom of the Opera World Tour in Dubai.

He always enjoys the collaboration and immediacy that comes from studio recording and has a professional quality recording set-up with a large music room perfect for home recording. Simon and his partner (James Pattinson - Violinist) recently sent off audio files to Clockwork Sessions in Glasgow and were pleased to receive positive feedback on the quality of the audio. We have a variety of acoustic baffles to make sure all files are of the purist sound quality to be edited after.
