House & electronic producer (UK) with 7+ years’ experience, 100M+ streams, and A&R background. I create deep house, tech house, melodic, and club-ready tracks. Offering ghost production, custom tracks, remixes, mixing, mastering, and fast, professional delivery.
Hey, I’m Tim Hughes — a UK-based music producer with 7+ years of experience and over 100M streams across projects. I work across all styles of house and electronic music, from deep and melodic to heavier club-focused records.
Alongside production, I’ve worked as an A&R at leading electronic labels for the past 4 years. That experience shapes how I approach every track — combining creativity with a clear sense of what makes a song feel polished, authentic, and release-ready.
What I offer:
• Full track production (custom or based on a reference)
• Ghost production (confidential + high-quality)
• Remixes, edits, and idea development
• Mixing/mastering if needed
• Feel free to ask about other services if I have not listed here
I enjoy working with artists, DJs, vocalists, and teams who want to shape something original. If you’ve got an idea or need help getting it to the next level, feel free to reach out — happy to chat or share more examples of my work.

Tim’s great to work with. Really easygoing, knows his craft, and his productions always sound top quality. He's helped me turn numerous ideas in my head into finished productions. Definitely recommend!
Tim’s always easy to work with. He's great at turning ideas into something real and adapting to different styles. He’s helped with a variety of projects, from producing songs in a specific style to helping polish up final versions. Definitely recommend!
Tim really helped me get my music production on track. I had tons of unfinished ideas and loops just sitting around, and he helped me turn them into actual songs. He’s great at understanding what you’re going for and pushing you in the right direction without taking over your sound.
Super chill to work with, knows his stuff, and always had practical advice that actually made a difference. Whether it was arranging, mixing, or just figuring out how to finish a track, Tim was a huge help. Highly recommend if you’re trying to level up or just get out of a creative rut.
Interview with Tim Hughes
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One that sticks with me is my track Feel The Love. I made it on my laptop during sunrise on a beach in Ibiza, not my favourite production of mine but I finished it in an hour and really felt like I captured the vibe of that moment. I’m also proud of Reminds Me Of You, which got big Spotify editorial support and Capital radio spins — the production on that one came together really naturally.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Just had a release on Armada, working on some follow-up tracks and a new club EP for my alias. Also finishing up remixes and originals for my main project.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Definitely. My friend Rory Hope is a great singer/songwriter — one of the hardest-working artists I know, and he’s actually the one who introduced me to SoundBetter.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Tough one. I love analog for the character and unpredictability — it’s hard to recreate something made with a synth. But digital is super practical, especially now that some plugins get surprisingly close. Plus, you can work anywhere.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I’ll treat your project the same way I treat my own: no shortcuts, good communication, and a focus on delivering something you’re genuinely proud to release.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Taking an idea — even just a rough sketch — and turning it into something that feels finished. It’s always satisfying when a client hears the final and gets excited about it.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of people ask if I can match the vibe of a track they like. The answer is yes — I can capture the feel and structure while keeping it original. Good references always help.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s just dragging loops into place. There’s a lot of technical detail and creative choices behind a clean, finished track — especially in electronic music where the production is the song.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask: - What’s the goal for the track — release, label pitch, DJ tool, etc.? - What kind of energy or vibe are you after? - Do you have a reference or rough demo? This helps me line everything up with your vision beyond just the song.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don’t hesitate to reach out — I’ve worked across everything from drill and rap to techno, minimal, and deep house. Just bring clear references and a general vibe, and I’ll help bring your idea to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, speakers, audio interface, Red Bull 😂, and my phone to listen to playlists.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I first got into electronic music after getting an iPod at 12 — found Spinnin' Records and was hooked. Started producing at 15 after saving for my first computer. After years of self-teaching and collaborating with mates, I started releasing music and eventually studied it at uni. I went on to become an A&R at a house label, signed over 100 tracks (each hitting 1M+ streams), and now work with a leading UK based electronic label across A&R and publishing. Been at it full-time for a few years now, and I still love it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Mature, feel-good, and clean. A lot of my stuff leans toward lounge or late-night vibes, but I move across styles depending on the project.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Mike Di Scala (CamelPhat). He’s been a big influence since day one. I actually had the chance to meet him, and it would be a full circle moment to collaborate on something.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t get too caught up in rules. Music is creative first. Trust your ears, take risks, and don’t compare your song to everyone else’s — just keep improving.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly house music — deep, tech, minimal, and melodic. Recently I’ve been doing more club-oriented tracks and even some rap crossovers, but my sound usually sits in the 4-on-the-floor world.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Sound selection and knowing how to shape a track sonically. I also listen to a wide range of music, which gives me perspective and helps me bring different influences into every project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I focus heavily on sound selection — always trying to make each production feel unique while fitting the style. I’ve built up a huge library of sounds and samples over the years. On top of that, with my background in A&R, I bring a release-focused perspective to the final product. I don’t just want a track to sound good — I want it to land properly when it comes out.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the track. If it’s a chill or melodic tune, I usually start with chords and build the vibe from there. If it’s more of a minimal/funky groove, I might start with an acapella and build drums and groove around that. For darker techno, I start with drums. Each project leads a different way.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mainly work from my home studio but also have access to high-end commercial studios when needed. At home I use Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X headphones, ADAM A7X monitors, a Universal Audio interface, and a Shure SM7dB. I produce in both Ableton 12 and FL Studio, and I use Sonarworks and Realphones for accurate mixing and referencing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I take a lot of inspiration from artists like CamelPhat, Kolter, RUZE, ANOTR, Jonas Rathsman, and RÜFÜS DU SOL — all pushing the boundaries in their own lane.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I’ve done a lot of ghost productions, worked on deep and chill house tracks with labels, and helped artists get their songs release-ready. I regularly finish ideas, produce full custom tracks, and handle mixing and mastering. Lately, I’ve been working closely with toplines from labels and building full productions around them.
