  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: Focus, communication, understanding, suggestions (where requested).

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: That I will do my best to bring your vision to life.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: A solar electricity generator, MacBook with Logic, pen, paper and an acoustic guitar.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: It's a fairly free style. My lyrics have a nod towards Ray Davies.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Paul McCartney. Who wouldn't want to work with the world's best.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: I've been told it's my lyrics.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: Various sync projects, a few co-writes and a personal project which is a hip hop album !

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: Digital. Takes up much less space :) I find digital is a lot faster to work with.

  19. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  20. A: I get to create something where nothing existed previously. That and making peoples visions come to life.

  21. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  22. A: what is your budget ? what do you want form the project ? What are your references ? What versions of the track do you want ? when do you need it by ?

  23. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: Ask questions (no such thing as a silly question). Make sure I understand your vision for the project. The more information you can give me, the better.Make sure you have a couple of references too. Have a budget in mind.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: Bit of a convoluted route having surrounded myself with the wrong people early on and being dragged down by the negative energy. In 2015, I stumbled across The Songwriting Academy and everything changed from there. Learnt about co-writing and production and have been building my skills ever since. Been on several writing camps. Done courses with Home Studio Boss, Production Music Masterclass, spent 2 years writing with Steelworks Studios. Then started learning about sync work.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Trust your ears.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Pop and indie are my main go to. I have been broadening out into hip hop.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I usually start with just a basic outline of a song. This way I can check everything fits together, has the right pace, feel etc. Once that is sorted, I can start filling in the pieces and mould it into shape.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: Mac and Logic with plug-ins such as Nexus, Native Instruments, Slate Digital, Arcade, Spitfire Audio.

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: Sounds corny but they all do. There's always something I can learn from someone be that a new way of doing something or a way not to do something.

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: It varies depending on the clients needs. It can range from writing a track to a toppling or writing the lyric to a track

  39. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  40. A: A song I released in June 2022 called Phenomenon that I wrote, performed and produced. I came really close to dying a couple of years before and I just got down and personal with this track. It's autobiographical and got a lot out of my system. It's also in hip hop which I would never have thought of doing but it just all fitted together so well.

  41. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  42. A: Most people think that all I do is press a button and the computer creates the track (don't tell anyone but there's actually 2 buttons I press !!!)
