Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on two productions, one for Argentina and one for Miami. Also, I'm working on two mixes and teaching mixing classes.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: The best of each one.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I don't like to make promises, but I always guarantee my commitment to their songs.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That with each job I learn something new
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My first step is to meet the people, listen to their music and know their expectations about the project. Once I'm sure that I can help, I can start talking about budgets and deadlines. I always start by doing a demo to find the initial aesthetic, and once this is achieved, the work begins.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who values what you do. Someone who understands you and your music.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. Laptop (with my favorite plugins) 2. Audio Interface 3. Headphones 4. Microphone 5. My keyboard
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My relationship with music started a long time ago, in 1985. 15 years later, after recording for the first time in a professional recording studio, I began my professional career in audio. I founded my own studio in 2008 and so far I have never stopped working.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Conservative. I always work for the song and I let myself go wherever it wants.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I have no preferences for a particular musician or artist. I just like working with those who do know what they want.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When I start each mix, I always keep in mind that famous phrase: 'Less is more'. So my process chain always starts with subtractive EQ, continues with dynamic control, and only after that, I start wondering to myself if I need to push any knobs up.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work in Rock / Pop, but I have also worked with Electro-Pop, Latin Ballad, Indie Pop, and more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am very intuitive, and that allows me to use my creativity to take the songs where the artist / producer wants.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Freshness, shine and naturalness.
