BIO
AC Carter is a musician, multi-disciplinary artist, and curator working in music, performance, and visual arts from Birmingham, AL. Recently moved to Los Angeles, AC’s work deals with gender identity, fluidity, and disruption. A 2020 University of Georgia MFA Fine Arts Graduate, AC makes music as Klypi, a queer pop artist, and runs Ad•verse, a musical festival in Athens, GA which underscores queer artists. AC has made sculptural garments for of Montreal’s music video “No Plateau Phase/ No Careerism, No Corruption” and Jennifer Vanilla’s performance at MoMA PS1. They have been featured in publications such as WUSSY Mag, PASTE, New American Painting, and TomTom Magazine, and have performed/ shown work at galleries such as Zeitgeist, bitforms, Chinatown Soup, and ZieherSmith. They have been accepted into the Stove Works Residency in Chattanooga in November 2020, and the Wassiac Project for the Winter of 2022.

Past visual artist, current musical one, AC draws from the history of Chris and Cosey, COUM Transmissions, WIRE, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, and Suicide, all of whose visual arts background played an important role in shaping their sound and performance that would come to follow.
