Working with Seb was everything I hoped for and more. From the first outreach, he expressed enthusiasm for the project and was consistently wonderful to work with. He provided valuable insight on my mixes, and his mastering truly brought my tracks to life. I could not be happier with the final product and I look forward to working with Seb again in the future!

Seb is an expert at what he does. I was looking for a mix that gave the vocals a particular focus. This was accomplished far beyond my expectations. Seb also is more than about tweaking knobs. He has a deep understanding of the music and production aspects of a song and gives suggestions to improve weak areas if it is an issue during the mix. Communication was excellent. Hear this work I am referring to via IG, @josiexoficial. Just to be clear. This is not a promotion for Josie. This is a personal validation of Seb's work that you can check out.

Seb was utterly professional to work with. He thought of everything before I’d even asked for it. He always has the client at heart. Would definitely work with him again :)

Interview with Seb Del Vecchio

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: Well, Music is my life, and allows me to get in touch with so many talented people!

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: I am an empathetic person. This helps me a lot in understanding the direction that the artist wants for a song

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Definitely Max Carola! I have grown up with him as an assistant. He is a world-class engineer. No doubt!

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: Many people think it's just about tweaking knobs...

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Assuming there is no electricity I would have with me just acoustic instruments... ;-)

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I am always trying to bring what is required for the song. I use both my technical expertise and my creative approach to the mix, with a 'producer mindset'

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: I love to feel involved in the artist's project having a chat so to fully understand the song's direction. Everything starts from there.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Nowadays I work mainly in the box. Converters and plugins have improved a lot in the last years. This gives us the opportunity to recreate that analog vibe as well, if the song requires it.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I get inspired by both classic great records and new ones, as there are lots of talented people out there doing fantastic job as 'sound guys'

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Mixing and Mastering
