I'm Matteo Marrella, aka marrel. I'm Italian producer specialized in Indie Pop and Hip Hop music. Feel free to contact me for any question.

I work as a Music Producer in the italian Indie Pop industry, and I follow the entire artistic and technical process of the songs I work on: pre-production, recordings, editing, mixing and mastering. I'm a very adaptable producer, and helping artists complete their songs is a very satisfying job. In my works I try to put all of myself to be able to convey in the productions what the artist wants to communicate.

I usually start from an artist idea, a simple demo with, for example, only the piano and the voice. You can send me anything to start with. I'm able also to produce an instrumental from zero, following what the artist has in mind.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I've several production in the making, contact me as soon as possible to allow me to offer you the best service.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Wake up in the morning and turn on all my gears.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The pop isn't bad, the pop is what the people like. The important thing is to do things well and be respectful of the music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't judge only by the price, listen to the music and choose what you prefer. Feel free to contact me to negotiate the price, every song is different.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 8 years now, I've started when I was very fews old.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It's soul, but very influenced by soundscores (a lot!), italian pop and Hip Hop.

A: Everyone, I learn something from every artist I work with.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make less, but better.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic Pop, Indie Pop, Modern Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: In the past years I've worked on a lot of Electronic Music, this gave me some cool production skills that i rarely ear in the Pop production.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Converting the artist's emotions into music is the role of every producer, the good producer discover emotions that the artist didn't even know he had.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The most important thing, for me, is talking with the artist for as long as necessary. Then, when I have understood, I can start producing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've a simple but functional studio, I've divided that in two section. One for production (I have the keyboard, the synths, some other MIDI controller and a pair of 8inches monitor. In the second I don't have instruments, only a Mackie Controller and a pair of 5inches monitor and two screens, I use this section to edit, mix and do all the things that need comfort.
