b.k. is an NYU graduate who has written and recorded with artists such as Akon. Her personal style is a mix of 50's jazz and 2020 soul, but she's capable of writing in a wide array of styles from pop, hip hop and R&B to musical theatre. She is also a speedy and versatile session vocalist!

I am a well rounded writer, with a particular talent for lyrics and melody. I'm capable of expanding on partially developed ideas on the keyboard, building a chord progression and topline from scratch, writing a hook on a premade instrumental, or anything in between. I'm also an efficient session vocalist with a good ear for harmony. Lets work on your project!

Interview with b.k.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A note I took from Brandy's Full Moon album is to record background vocals with a breathy timbre to the voice, so when layered they sound silky smooth.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Like Nas said, all I need is one mic.. but it helps that I also have an iMac, Logic, keyboards, an interface, and fat speakers to bump everything on.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh is a master lyricist and melody writer. Lex Lu has amazing flow and writing skills.
