I will create string arrangements and compositions for your song or film. I play violin, viola and cello and create string quartet arrangements, or a full string orchestra sound. I'm a Berklee grad and have twenty years of performing experience, and over 10 as a professional recording musician.

I specialize in creating instrumental melodies that heighten the emotions of your song. I will provide solo violin, viola, cello, or full string sections (violin, viola, cello) for your music. I can create a string quartet arrangement and record all the parts (2 violins, viola, cello) or track three or more parts per instrument to create a full string section.

All tracks are recorded at the highest quality in a professional recording studio. I'm classically trained with performance experience in Folk/Americana, Neoclassical, Indie Pop, and electronic music.

Interview with Gregory Allison

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I run a record label called Holy Volcano and I am producing an album for the amazing singer-songwriter Ella Luna. I've also started a video series of live in-studio recordings that will be going up on the label's YouTube Channel. There are two other instrumental albums that will be released on the label this year: one ambient piano and strings record by Tristan de Liege and a folk/Americana album by the trio RAQIA.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening. I highly value deep listening and when a client brings me a song, I really want to hear what they hear and serve the needs of the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run a professional studio with control room and isolation booth. I run everything through a 40-channel Allen & Heath board and Neve 1173 preamps. I have a great mic closet, choice outboard gear, and use UAD plugins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record violin, viola, cello, and full string sections remotely for songwriters and bands.
