Interview with Famous Amos Beatz

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My most recent collab with a trap artist named 'BloodRedd'. Like me, he is trying to make a name for himself and to hear that my beat brought the best out of him was an amazing feeling. I've never worked on a trap song until working with this client and found that trap can sound a LOT better than I originally thought. I love the song we came up with! The song is called 'On The Pedal'. I produced the beat from scratch, mixed, mastered entire track and added background vocals to add a little spice to the chorus. Defs something I've never heard from any other trap artists out there yet.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Producing my first 50 clients' FREE in order to gain a reputation as well as reviews on my SoundBetter profile!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Julia Ross... She is an AMAZING singer for anyone who wants a feature with an incredible voice who has over 583,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Working with her could get you onto playlists and fast track the process of being discovered like I am currently trying to do!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. Plugins can make digital sound just as good if not better than analog. Cheaper option as well.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To put my all into your track as if it is my own. Spend the time necessary to make the track sound like nothing else on the radio. Great music is my promise to you.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Creating new music for people to enjoy and relate to. I love hearing new music all the time so I want to be able to produce new music for other people to enjoy all the time likewise.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: People like to ask if I have Insta. Yes, I do. Follow me here: https://www.instagram.com/famousamosbeatzz/

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That music producers are expensive to hire for high quality work. This is not true when working with me.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is your vision for the track we are going to be working on? Mood/vibe? Key? Genre? BPM? Any additional info you would like me to know about your new track?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Find a producer who has proven work that is of similar style to what you are going for and make sure you're getting the most out of it (ex. production, mixing, mastering, etc.)

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: laptop, monitors, audio interface, mic, Arturia mk2 minilab

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My musical interest began in 2019 while living in my duplex at the time, freestyling to XXL Freshman videos on YouTube. I started freestyling for fun over all of the popular songs that I liked at the time and found that what I was coming up with was better than a lot of the rappers wo were rapping on those beats. I wanted to be able to make my own beats (produce), sing, release and promote music of my own to give the world something new. A producer, singer, songwriter who starts and finishes a musical idea by himself. That way the entire idea fits my unique style and what I think sounds amazing. I have been recording and producing music for a year and a half now and even skip out on family events to pursue my musical career every day that I am away from my full time job. The goal is to eventually make enough from music that I can do it full time. If that happens, there will be a LOT of amazing hit songs to follow. Music is all I have been doing for almost 2 years now and I'm not stopping anytime soon!

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Creative, new school, genre breaking, unique, adaptable, optimistic, emotional

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Ava Max because she has the voice of a goddess in the EDM world and that is why I chose to work on my EP 'Best Friend' ft. Julia Ross which we are currently working on and will be released officially in March of 2023. Julia Ross is very close in vocal capability to that of Ava Max.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: DO YOUR RESEARCH AND LEARN ONLINE FORM PRODUCERS WHO ARE MILLIONAIRES! After taking Charlie Puth's 'Pop Production & Songwriting' class on Studio.com along with subscribing to Sonic Academy to learn how the pros produce EDM, that changed everything I do. Once you do that, you'll spend a LOT less time thinking about sections of the song that you need to lay down and start producing a LOT faster/more efficiently.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: EDM/Pop/Dance and Hip Hop. I have recently produced pop punk and country hip hop beats for clients as well.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Creative innovation and boundary breaking genre mixing

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Everything and anything that you could possibly imagine. I stretch the boundaries with every client to come up with crazy new vibes that you haven't experienced with as much emotion/quality anywhere else.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Interactive and efficient. Gather all necessary info to start the track based on client's vision, lay down chords, bass, melody, and increase/decrease intensity/amount of instruments being used as the song progresses forward through each new section.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Home studio setup with your typical home studio producer setup. Laptop, Apollo Twin audio interface, KRK monitors, Audio Technica headphones, AT-2020 Audio Technica microphone, Arturia Minilab MK2, bluetooth mouse & keyboard, Epiphone Les Paul Custom (electric guitar), Orange Crush 12 & 20 guitar amps

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Charlie Puth, The Chainsmokers, The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Ava Max, Sk8, Lil Uzi Vert, Shawn Mendez, Camilla Cabello and Ty Dolla $ign just to name a few.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Full music production and feature artist collaboration
