Hi, my name is Kyle. I'm a singer, songwriter, and producer. My music has been featured on national ad campaigns, major network shows, and indie releases. I’m comfortable singing lead, stacking lush harmonies, or writing toplines and lyrics from scratch.

Whether you’re a producer looking for a soulful voice, or a sync composer needing pro-level toplining and delivery, I’m here to bring your song to life—fast and professionally.

Interview with Kyle Rictor

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Ryan Courtney

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: The way it connects me to other creative people!

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I love the movies. I am so inspired by film and TV, my brain is very visual, so, most often, I'm making music that complements visual media.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: Vocalist

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring a strong sense of melody, powerful lyrical imagery, and dynamic vocal performance to songs.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: When making a song, it often starts as a single phrase or even just a word that is provocative to me in some way. With it comes a whole universe that I then get to uncover and crystallize over time.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I record in the countryside in the quiet northeastern corner of New England. I've worked in my studio space for the last decade. It's controlled chaos. Synthesizers, mic cables, guitar racks, amps, neon signs, pedal boards, mic lockers, drum machines. I like to play when I make music, and that is on full display in my studio.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: I would love to work with Martin Luke Brown. I think what he's doing in Folk/Pop is very interesting right now.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: If you like it, bounce it. It helps you to trust your instincts, commit, and reduces mental and CPU load.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: As a vocalist, I'm drawn to dynamic and vulnerable voices. Lewis Capaldi, Brandi Carlile, Moses Sumney, and Yebba are a few that come to mind.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I mostly do topline, vocals, and harmonies for clients here.
