TIM3LIMIT

EDM Production, Mix & Master

TIM3LIMIT on SoundBetter

Focused on non-verbal storytelling to create the exact vibe you want to achieve. I'm specialized on, but not limited to bass-heavy dance music. I also love creating moody soundscapes that take listeners on a journey.

I can produce full songs / instrumentals for you as well as mix and master your music or only work on specific parts of a track, e.g. vocal production or sound design.

----

My name is Tim and I'm a music producer, audio engineer and sound designer with a Bachelor's degree in Audio Production, obtained at SAE Institute.

Instead of focusing on a specific genre or style, I'm more vibe-oriented when it comes to music production. The more you can tell me about the story you want to tell with your song, the better I can make that idea in your head reality.

I'd love to work with many different kinds of artists and help you achieve your own sound!

Interview with TIM3LIMIT

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: I like to categorize my sound as "somewhere inbetween Skrillex and Hans Zimmer" because of my wide range of influences. I'm really into this storytelling-approach to music that you find in film and game sound. I love using it to build up tension that eventually leads into a heavy edm drop!

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: Skrillex. His ability to reinvent himself over and over again, not only staying relevant but actually setting the new trends is incredible and inspiring. Like me, he never really settled with one genre.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Don't mix while producing!

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: I can learn new genres really fast and figure out how to make them. I teached myself how to do this during my studies at SAE Institute. I could never really settle with just one genre or style, so I thought it would be a good idea to develope a little system that allows me to dive into new sounds even faster.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: I like to start with the composition and arrangement of a song, finding chord progressions and melodies that express the emotion I'm going for. Afterwards I'll focus on the sounddesign. For an EDM track, for example, I'll first design the fattest bass I can and then find drum samples that compliment it. Only after nailing this I can move on with the other instruments, add sound effects and of course do the vocal production.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: If it wasn't for my field reocrder and my classic SM57 mic, which I use to record all sorts of sounds, I would be a full in-the-box-producer. I love having all my tools available right at my fingerips (controlled through mouse and keyboard and my Alesis V-mini). Some highlights are the inspiring world instruments from EastWest Sound, the precisely modeled analog synths from Arturia and my all time favorite synthesizer - Xfer Serum.
