Noah Sprosty

Session Bassist and Cellist

Noah Sprosty on SoundBetter

I provide curated session work that fits a variety of styles and genres including rock, indie, funk, classical, folk, jazz, and latin music.

Hello! My name is Noah Sprosty and I offer premium session work live and in the studio. My expertise lies in the cello and the electric bass, although I am also proficient in both acoustic and electric guitar. I have experience playing on professional recordings that range from rock, indie, folk, and jazz. I also have experience playing live shows/concerts, and I had been in orchestra for most of my life, which has provided me with a vast knowledge of music theory and sightreading skills. I believe that providing exceptional sounding music while maintaining respect and kindness are the most vital things pertaining to what I do. I love to contribute to projects that I know will sound great!

Interview with Noah Sprosty

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I worked on a few songs off of an album by my good friend Kiernan Tollefson, who is such an amazing guitarist. I laid down some cello lines on a few of his songs and they turned out great!

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: What is the overall feel of the song? What would you like me to add dynamically and techincally?

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: I would describe my style as versatile yet tasteful. I believe that giving space in a song dynamically has an equal if not greater effect than overplaying.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: My typical work process starts with listening to music to look for inspiration and ideas. I then have a vision of what I want something to sound like in my head, then I try and play it!
