Tabla for your track: Heiko is well known for performing, recording, mixing, composing and producing many styles of music, jazz to pop to classical. Heiko has collaborated with artists like Shankar Mahadevan, Vinnie Colaiuta, Mellissa Etheridge, DJ Isis, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and many more.

In my late teens, I hitch-hiked from Amsterdam to India. Deeply touched by the classical Hindustani music, I got a set of Tabla, and found a master to learn from. For 7 years, I was totally absorbed into only Tabla study and Indian music. After those formative years, I continued studying, and started performing, pure classical Hindustani, and collaborations with all sorts of adventurous musicians, from jazz to electronic to classical Western music. In this time, I started working with samplers and recording. firstly self taught, afterwards spend lots of time mixing with professionals in their studios.
Besides my main work as a performing Tabla player, I do a lot of recording, mixing and producing. I work with contemporary dance, documentaries, singer-songwriters, dj/producers, classical orchestras/ensembles and jazz & world music. Most of my studio jobs are recording Tabla, producing/composing music for dance-productions, recording and mixing classical and world music.
