  4. A: I started by mastering my own work, which taught me so much about getting out of my own head and out of my own way.

  6. A: trying to better visualize what an archangel looks like.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: hybrid.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: my masters will take you to outer space.

  12. A: the reward of knowing I've done my part to transform a piece of work from excellent to timeless.

  14. A: Do I really need a master after the mix is complete? YES. it's the glue that turns your track from a collection of instruments into a SONG.

  16. A: that it's simple. or unnecessary.

  18. A: what song do you want this to sound like? What do you want the listener to think or be reminded of when they hear it?

  20. A: go with your gut.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My acoustic guitar, my laptop, my Apollo interface, my monitors, and my headphones.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been doing this, according to family videos, since age 5.

  26. A: Space Folk with touches of americana and electronica

  28. A: Bob Dylan, because he is my own personal jesus.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: pay attention to your body. It will show you whether you've done a good job.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: usually folk, indie, Americana and rock, but I dabble all over the map.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: staying with the job until it's done. anything less than an excellent master irks me to no end.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: dimension, depth, precision, passion. magic.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by paying attention to what my head and body are doing. When my head starts to nod, that's when I know I'm on to something. By the time my legs get involved, I'm most of the way there. I mark the project complete when I get up and dance around.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I typically mix and master using HEDD Type 07 MKII monitors through a Universal Audio Apollo X4 running into a MacBook Pro. a very clear signal chain.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: a huge amount! Everything from Bob Dylan to SZA, Elton John to Mississippi Delta Blues. EDM, trace, alt-country. A pieces of a giant experiential puzzle.

  44. A: I provide mastering across a wide variety of genres and disciplines, adding depth, dimension and clarity to my client's work
