Remote Mixing Engineer

Matthew Langdon on SoundBetter

Let me help you to find your sound and turn it into a masterpiece. Whether you are starting a song from scratch, your voice notes or developing an existing demo I want to help you turn it into a professional, release ready track. I have 8 years of experience as a recording assistant, mixing engineer, a live sound engineer and a session drummer.

I am a multi-instrumentalist, mixing engineer and producer. I have been playing music since I was 8 years old when I started drum lessons and I have been obsessed with music ever since. I work out of my home studio in Berkshire, UK as well as having 3 years of experience as a music and music technology teacher. I love helping other people to achieve their musical vision and discover something new, it is the best part of my job.

In addition to mixing and producing, I am the drummer for classic rock cover band 'OUTATIME'. My 15 years of drumming experience means that I can record live drums to your tracks without having to hire out a recording studio.

Interview with Matthew Langdon

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: I currently work completely in the box on Logic Pro when mixing using my M3 Pro chip MacBook Pro with 36GB of ram, meaning I can handle massive projects with ease. I use Yamaha HS8 studio monitors to complete the majority of my mixing as well as mastering and AKG K240 headphones for tracking and work that requires. As well as this I use a Nektar SE49 MIDI keyboard along with a wide variety of Native Instruments and Spitfire audio sound libraries for my composing. For guitars I use a PRS Custom 24 electric, a Tanglewood Electro-Acoustic and an Ibanez SR300E Bass.

  3. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  4. A: Most of my time I spend mixing which I love doing, taking a new song recently recorded and developing it into something exciting is such a great experience. I also regularly work on producing a piece of music from a demo into a fully working track. Re - recording parts in my home studio, tidying up tracks and mixing it into a polished piece of music and helping others to realise their musical ideas.
