Cameron Sonnier on SoundBetter

Versatile Mixer, Producer, and Songwriter, specializing in Indie Rock/Folk, Dream Pop, Americana, Rap, and more. Check out my Spotify profile Cameron Sonnier to understand my sound.

I'm a Producer, Mixer, Multi-Instrumentalist & Artist. When collaborating on any project, my primary goal is to understand the vision of the artist I'm working with. Music is subjective and there's no right or wrong way to do things, experimentation and collaboration are the keys to success. I have a myriad of gear and plugins at my disposal. Still, as I start any project I immediately try to envision the sonic palette we're aiming for to try and create a unique and cohesive sound throughout the record. It's a steady balance of using what you know will work through experience, while constantly auditioning and experimenting with new approaches. My production heroes are, Brian Eno, Alex G, Aphex Twin, Pink Floyd, Bon Iver, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Elliot Smith. My own sound is a blend of ambient electronic elements from genres like ambient music, and dream pop, mixed with organic string instruments like the acoustic guitar.

Very much enjoying working with Cameron to produce my music. He has great equipment - his U195 recording mic paired with vintage settings sounds incredible - and his recording space is well maintained. Really impressed with his vocal and guitar effect chains. His vocal chains in particular are thoughtfully and intentionally designed by Cameron to bring out the best qualities of your voice. Cameron is incredibly knowledgeable about producing and mixing - a benefit of his past experiences and own research.
