I'm an ambient/post-rock guitarist and music producer. I can be useful in creating atmospheric music for meditation and cinematic ambient. My superpower is creating soothing sound. Contact me if you need atmospheric background music or ambient guitar in your track.
My main instrument is an electric guitar and my space pedalboard. Using this equipment I create multi-dimensional ambient works and perform at live shows under the stage name ALL STARS DYING
But I also know synthesis and sampling and use this to create a peaceful sound
I also create cinematic tracks for films and commercials and create sound effects for this industry.

Amazing experience working with Artem! Exceptionally gifted musician, but also a great communicator & collaborator. Artem paid very close attention to my notes going into the project, but also wasn't shy about offering valuable feedback to help shape the song. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Artem again!
Interview with Artem Demidov
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am most proud of my work on a project that took place in Bali at the Raffle Hotel. I had to write 18 tracks for voice meditations, which the retreat participants practiced over 2 weeks. In fact, in just over a month I wrote an entire ambient album. By the way, I’ve been working on my solo albums much longer)))
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on the second and third solo albums of my project ALL STARS DYING. The second album will be a collaboration with a magnificent violinist. This will be a completely ambient album with a soothing sound for 1 hour. The third album will have a more designer sound, with crunchy beats and textures, piano, electric guitar and violin. I’m also finishing work on the soundtrack for a documentary about the life of Carlos Castaneda. I have already written over 1 hour of shamanic music and sound design for this film.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: It will be beautifully voluminous and multidimensional!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that the same result can be achieved in hundreds of ways. And it is always an act of love and creativity.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That cool sound is made only by world-famous producers.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What mood do you want to convey with music?
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital - because digital has long sounded no worse than analog. And it breaks less often.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1) My Fender Stratocaster Deluxe 2) Boss DD-500 delay 3) GFI Skylar reverb 4) Boss RC-500 looper 5) Two Fender amps for stereo sound (does this count as one device?)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am 45 years old. I started studying music at the age of 17. At first I played in metal bands. But with age, I began to appreciate the beauty and peace in music. Therefore, after playing in metal bands, I plunged deeply into studying Ableton, electronic sound, sound design and sound healing. For some time I practiced sound healing with singing bowls and conducted sound therapy seminars. However, in the last 10 years I have returned to the guitar sound. However, he brought into it the received spiritual and spiritual experience. Now I'm interested in atmospheric guitar sound and sound design using real pedals.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Ambient and post-rock music with a fair amount of shoegaze. As well as meditative background music.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would really like to work with Jon Hopkins and the Hammock. Because they are masters at creating mood through sound. Their music heals and immerses you in the world they created. If they told me that I could only take the music of 2 artists to a desert island, that I could listen to it forever, I would take Hammock and Jon Hopkins
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Work on the details of the sound. Learn the nuances of your devices, create new sound options and delve deeper into sound quality!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Music for meditation, cinematic ambient soundtracks, post-rock music, chillout.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Create beautiful atmospheric harmonies, textures and soundscapes that can soothe the soul and reduce stress.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My approach is to bring volume and beauty to the song. Believe me, the guitar is capable of much more than a banal rock solo or riff. The guitar can create universes of sound and even black holes into which it can drag you forever.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For most of my work, I sit in my home studio in Bali and record guitar. I also do sound design, recording a ton of sounds with a microphone. Because I often need atmospheres and synchronized noises for the sound design of films and advertising. I collect sounds from all over the world into my own sound library, which already contains several thousand sounds of nature, local people, cities and animals.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I love guitar pedals. My pedalboard has 12 pedals. These include studio-quality reverbs and delays. A few years ago, I set out to put together a hardware setup that would sound as big, high-quality and wide as VST plug-ins. And I bought and sold several dozen pedals to create the perfect setup. Among the gems of my pedalboard are the Boss DD-500, Source Audio Collider, and GFI Systems Collider. My setup allows me to sound as good live as I do in the studio using a computer. That's why I try to record a guitar that has already been processed with real gadgets. My main guitar is a Fender Stratocaster Deluxe SSH made in 1998 in California. I think this is the best instrument for ambient and post-rock music.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My sources of endless inspiration are the artists and bands Hammock, Helios, Jon Hopkins, M83, ISHQ
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Clients come to me who need atmospheric, calming music for meditation. As well as clients from video production for sound design for their films, advertising and videos on YouTube
