No matter the style, when it comes to using strings or orchestration on your project, I'm your guy.
Hello, I'm Peter! I've been playing violin since age 11, starting in orchestras. I continued playing with orchestras through University. I earned a degree in composition at CSUN and taught myself guitar, piano, bass, and voice.
I love taking my knowledge from that time and use it to blend genres together. I now specialize in string and orchestral arrangements, and can write/arrange any genre from Orchestral, EDM, Pop, Rock, Jazz, etc. And from all that I am a session violinist/multi-instrumentalist.

Interview with Peter Weissman
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would bring my violin, guitar, and capo. That would be more than enough to express a musical vision.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'm open to working with any type of artist, since that will help me grow as an artist myself.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually try to find what I want sonically before anything else, and then I start working on an idea.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My work ranges from making complete demos from scratch to adding some string orchestration to the project.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently working on some demos that blend between Rock and Tango.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We will create what you were envisioning.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love helping a vision come to fruition.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Question: How do you come up with that part? Answer: I don't, I let the project tell me what it needs.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What artists inspired you to write music and pursue this career? What about that artist spoke to you? What is the purpose of the project that we're working on?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure that your provider wants to help YOUR vision come to fruition and not just service theirs.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been playing music since 11 years old when starting violin in the school orchestra. I then became interested in composition and wanted to learn about orchestration. I now compose and play my music and blend various styles together.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to blend styles together using existing elements that we've heard before.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Each project is a guessing game to know what fits with what in the moment.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work on any genre from cinematic and soundtrack to songwriting projects.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm the strongest with using orchestration to find and twist elements or genres to then blend various styles together.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always strive to bring the catchy and sonically satisfying emotions to any project that I work on. Every project is different.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work off of a Macbook Pro, using a Scarlet interface. I use Logic Pro x, Pro Tools, and Cubase. I also use Kontakt libraries, BBC Symphony Pro, as well as Arturia Analog Labs V.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by many artists. Some of those include Hans Zimmer, John Williams, John Powell, Queen, Prince, etc.
