My name is Robert Kennedy. I’m a musician and producer based in Vancouver with a deep passion for helping others achieve their musical goals. I offer highly affordable services that still meet, and often exceed, industry standards.
Influenced by artists like Lauv and Justin Bieber, my production style blends rich, layered instrumentation with clean, simple melodies and chord progressions. Through carefully selected gear and software, I aim to give each track a modern edge while maintaining a natural, organic feel.

Interview with Robert Kennedy

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: JVKE—he is such an interesting and unique artist, and I absolutely love the fact that his songs don’t need to be unclean to communicate their point.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Follow the examples of the greats—if you can’t picture your song being on the radio because of its sound, then reconsider your process and strive to match others’ examples of quality in the industry.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Pop music and Hip-Hop.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: Producing rich, full-body-felt music.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring an effervescent production style into my songs and love to hide many different candies along the way—I’ve often gotten acknowledgment for my creative implementation of simplistic melodies and rhythms to brighten my songs and create intrigue for the listener.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: I generally record voice memos of different instrument ideas and vocal melodies, then combine those compositions into tracks in my DAW. After getting my foundational music tracks finished, I typically add textural sounds, complex chord progressions fitting to the song, additional percussion to the central drum kit, transitioning sounds, and widened sounds.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I use two Edifier studio monitors for production and mixing in addition to Audio Technica headphone monitors for recording audio. I often switch around between different midi controllers to help refresh my mind and inspire new ways of production—my preference however is Arturia’s Minilab MK3. I record vocals with the Rode Videomic Go 2 because of its warm, high quality input. For other audio recording, I use a Scarlet Solo audio interface.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: Adam Turley is an absolute musical genius—I’m greatly inspired by his skill. Additionally, I aspire to mix vocals similar to Justin Bieber and Lauv. They have such beautifully tweaked vocals and I am always challenged to meet that quality.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Affordable music production of many genres.
