DJ-first, with decades of experience reading crowds, blending genres, and creating tracks that feel alive.
Music has been my life since childhood. I grew up in record stores and clubs, where I learned to DJ, mix, and understand music through the perspective of the dance floor. By the 80s, I was shaping Belgium’s underground club scene and building a reputation for mixtapes that DJs sought out for their fresh energy and flow.
What I bring today is that same DJ instinct:
- An ear trained to hear what truly works across genres
- Seamless blending and mixing that keeps energy high
- Production that combines experience with creativity
Whether it’s mixing, remixing, or creating new tracks, I deliver sound that moves people.

Interview with Ono Moloko
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on my own album. A combination of Gorillaz, Massive Attack and Pink Floyd.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog for warmth and texture, digital for precision and flexibility.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I don’t know exactly what your track will become, but I promise it won’t be boring!!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Turning ideas into sound that moves people on the first listen.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That DJs just press play. The real work is listening, adapting, and creating flow that feels effortless. The truth? I’ve spent decades learning music inside out: reggae, classical, jazz, punk, pop, world,... and I use that knowledge to create effortless flow.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Bring clear references, but stay open. The magic often happens where you least expect it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Technics 1200s, Pioneer mixer, TR-808, sampler, and a solar-powered laptop.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started DJ’ing as a teenager in Belgian clubs and record stores. Never stopped. Music has been my life for decades.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Genre-blending, groove-driven, seamless. Always chasing the moment where sound connects to emotion.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Gorillaz: because their sound is always evolving and cool, mixing styles in unique ways. They reinvent themselves with every release, and that creativity is where I thrive as a producer!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If it doesn’t move you, it won’t move anyone else. Trust your ear and strip away what’s not serving the track.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic, pop, funk, and dance, but I approach every genre through a DJ’s perspective.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ear. Decades of DJ’ing trained me to hear balance, dynamics, and flow across genres.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A DJ’s instinct—knowing what moves people. Seamless blending of styles and attention to sonic detail.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen first. I study references, build the vibe, then refine until the energy feels right.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Hybrid. Pioneer decks, Technics 1200s, analog drum machines, Ableton Live, and classic samplers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Gorillaz, Massive Attack, David Bowie, Fad Gadget, Bryan Ferry, Talking Heads, Underworld, The Orb, Jah Wobble, Lee Scratch Perry, Pink Floyd, Ghost Punk, Coldplay
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce tracks from start to finish, bringing decades of experience and a DJ’s instinct for what works.
