Will Lopez is a Peruvian drummer, songwriter, and composer with an extensive career in Latin American rock and live performance.
He began playing drums at the age of five and, by twelve, entered Peru’s National Conservatory of Music, earning first place in the Percussion specialty. His professional career has included collaborations and performances with some of Peru’s most recognized rock acts, most notably Libido, one of the country’s influential rock bands and a two-time MTV Award winner.
Will joined Libido in 2011 and went on to record, tour, and perform extensively with the band. In 2012, he recorded the single “Cuelgo el Teléfono,” working with producers Keith Morrison and Manuel Garrido-Lecca. He also performed at major festivals including Vivo x el Rock, playing for audiences of more than 25,000 people.
Beyond his work as a drummer, Will is also a songwriter and composer. He composed “Y Vuelves a Aparecerte,” released by Libido as part of their 2016 album produced in collaboration with British producer Phil Vinall, known for his work with artists including Zoé, Placebo, and Pulp.
Now based in Los Angeles, Will continues developing his work as a drummer, songwriter, composer, and independent artist, bringing together his Latin American rock background with influences from alternative rock, pop-punk, and the Southern California music culture.
