He got a Latin Grammy Award for his contribution on singer Emílio Santiago's live CD "Só Danço Samba ao vivo" , winner on 2012. Alex can play in many styles like Bossa Nova, Latin, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Samba, R'n'B, Rock, Funk, and many more.
