I'm an Italian Trombonist and Mixing/Recording engineer. As musician, I understand music, the artist's goals and desires. My communication is direct, open and I am focused on groove, punch and warmth.

Starting age 14 I learned playing bass via my elder brother and some friends. Age 18 started at the Lindenberg Music School with jazz guitar, age 20 took bass lessons with international acclaimed bassplayer, age 33 had my own Amsterdam jam session.

I’m an experienced composer, engineer, and producer with a master's in music composition and production. I’ve scored two feature length films and several shorts. I’ve arranged an opera and mixed tracks in a wide variety of genres. I specialize in creating unique colors, textures, and layers, “vibey” production, and electro-acoustic composition.

I've created sonic experiences for recording artists, dancers, museums, cities, etc. I tackle a variety of techniques from producing 90's boom-bap to mixing live future bass. As a mixer I want to help other musicians make interesting, emotional, and impactful sounding art. I tend to work on darkwave, shoegaze, experimental electronic, and alternative pop music, but I love a great lo-fi acoustic singer-songwriter too. I treat each mix with individualized care and I only work on music that I actually like.

With his steady hand and golden ear, Alex Lyon has been bringing balance to tracks for years at renowned studios across the US, from Supersonic Studios in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City’s historic Skyline Recording Studios with Steely Dan, to 19 years at The Bubble in Austin, Texas.
