Hi! I’m a mixing engineer based in Los Angeles. I have produced and mixed records for CBS Show "Y&R", Nora Fatehi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Mickey Shiloh, Jax, Rayvon Owen (American Idol), Carly Pearl, Ben Stitt (aka Async Ross), Nina West (Ru Paul’s Drag Race), and many more. I love to help artists bring their musical visions to life.
I went to Berklee College of Music for Music Production & Engineering and Writing and fell in love with mixing because it enables me to work with a variety of artists and genres. I use Pro Tools, and Ableton Live for mixing and production and work out of a 9.1.4 PMC Dolby Atmos Certified mix room in Los Angeles, CA.
What I can do for you:
⁃ mix your single/EP/Album
⁃ vocal mixes - including pitch-correction, editing, comping.
- Dolby Atmos/Spacial Audio mixes
Look forward to working with you!
Tell me about your project and how I can help, through the 'Contact' button above.

Alex is my go to producer! He is incredibly talented, professional, easy to work with, and delivers amazing results. He beautifully executed my vision for this song in addition to adding new elements that took it to the next level! I also really appreciate that although I changed my mind quite a bit throughout the process, Alex happily made many revisions until we got it perfectly right. I couldn't recommend him more and I look forward to working with him again.

Alex is one of the most wonderful people I've ever collaborated with. He is extremely talented, has eye for detail (or should I say ears?) and is very driven. This whole project was our first one together and I can tell you there'll be more in the future. Alex played a big part in getting my EP ready for the world and I honestly couldn't be happier! Very highly recommended.

Alex is wonderful!
We're working together on the mixing of my 5-track EP & after having tried out the first song now, I decided to continue with the other tracks as well. He has an amazing work ethic & is incredibly passionate and patient at the same time. I can't wait to continue our collaboration!
I can only recommend him highly! I worked with Alex on an EP that he co-produced and Mixed. He was absolutely amazing to work with and super easy to communicate with. He instantly understood where I wanted to take these songs and with his great musical understanding and amazing ears he got the production and mix exactly where it needed to be. I can highly recommend him to anybody who needs a producer or mix engineer with not only outstanding technical production and mixing abilities but also amazing musical skills.

Alex is my go to producer and mixing engineer, with a great understanding of the music industry. We worked on my EP album together and the result was amazing. I am so happy of the sound he helped me create and execute. He is well versed in different musical styles, and for me specifically, in the electronic indie pop genre. An intuitive and experience producer, he makes my ideas and vision come alive each project we do. And thats not all, he is not just talented but speedy too because of his impeccable technical skills and accuracy. Each session is time&money well spent. I highly recommend!

Alex is an incredibly talented musician and producer. He took my song to an entirely new level. I sent him a basic acapella and he completely transformed it into a HIT. Highly recommend working with him!
Interview with Alex Winter
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Pay attention if communication is good from the start and that you feel comfortable. I think for music especially it is important to feel good about the people you work with, weather you're in the same room together or remotely. :)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh (amazing songwriter, singer and artist), Moritz Braun (great producer and mixing engineer).
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Client's who hire me for mixing often ask if I can master the tracks as well. I tell them that I can make the tracks "loud" enough for release, but the point of mastering is to have another (hopefully amazing!) set of ears listen to and refine the track. If your budget allows it definitely get your song mastered by someone other than your mixing engineer. The mixing engineer should make the song sound as good as he possibly can. After mastering it should be even better. I have 2 great mastering engineers I like to work with.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I'll ask them about reference tracks and artists/songs that inspire their music. I might ask them what they want their music to sound like but also what they want people to feel.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, Laptop, Interface, Speakers, Mic. Pretty much a full recording setup! :)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't put a limiter on your master track. Make sure that when you play your track without a limiter it's not clipping and there is sufficient headroom left. That will prevent tracks from clipping/distorting when you send your stems or single tracks to your mixing engineer.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Banks, Tom Misch, Max Martin, Jacob Collier, Bon Iver.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production and mixing.
