Jakob Nebel on SoundBetter

Professional recording and touring musician based in Berlin, Germany. I have recorded with international artists in the States, UK, Spain & Germany, worked with producers David Bottrill (Muse, Placebo), Al Clay (Pink, Pixies), Steve Lyon (Paul McCartney, The Cure). Currently also guitarist and Musical Director for German Top10 Artist Nico Santos.

Hi there, my name is Jakob, I have been a touring and recording guitarist for more than 20 years. Before I became a sideman, I spent many years touring Europe and the States with my own London-based band "Livingston". We were fortunate enough to have a hit radio single in Germany, as well as our songs in a couple of blockbuster movies. Through the band I also started my recording career, working in legendary studios such as Abbey Road, Metropolis, Sonic Ranch in Texas and Mike Rutherford's Fisher Lane. I got the chance to record albums with producers such as David Bottrill (Muse, Placebo), Al Clay (Pink, Pixies), Steve Lyon (Paul McCartney, The Cure).

In recent years I have been working as a sideman and recording guitarist for major acts in Germany, such as the chart topping pop sensation Nico Santos. I record guitars in my own studio, with a large variety of amps, guitars, mics and preamps. Stylistically I am equally at home in pop, rock, funk, R'n'B & folk.
I immensely enjoy the process of bringing a track to life by searching for the right guitar sounds, parts and arrangements.
I would love to help you make an amazing record!

I have had the pleasure to enjoy Jakobs superb guitar playing and musicianship over the past years while playing numerous concerts and working in the studio with him. On all those occasions I was always amazed by his exquisite taste, tone and timing. Being an incredible songwriter himself he intuitively knows what your song needs and will provide you with brilliant ideas on his instrument that will take your song to a higher level.

Jakob is not the guy to play uninspired guitar licks. He's an artist.
Prior to establishing himself in the German music scene, he toured through Europe with his own, London-based band 'Livingston'. Once he decided to play for other artists, his career sky-rocketed. Within no time, he had to buy multiple sets of equipment to play all the shows he got booked for. I'm not lying, he was THE guy that had the most hype around himself in Germany during the last years.
When you hire Jakob, you not only get creativity, sound and sheer craftsmanship. You get passion and a family member for your team.

Jakob is a superb musician and awesome guitarist. His tone, time, creativity and overall musicianship is top class. Throughout the years he continuously worked with top stars as a sideman as well as a musical director. I've had the pleasure of playing with him a few times on stage and I really appreciate his reliability, his creative input and his overall positive energy. Highly recommended!!
