I had an amazing re-mix from Duck The Bass! Professional all the way! Easy to work with. Fast clear communication -- solid musicianship and production skills -- a great understanding of EDM. Delivered everything as promised and then some! I am so impressed -- I am already working on another track with DTB!

Duck the bass produces fresh songs with commercial appeal. If you give her a reference she will capture the vibe and sound of the reference, while complimenting and enhancing your song. She always finds these cool little sounds that I call “ear candy.” I love how she processed my guitar tracks and mixed them into the songs. Everything she does is high quality and her mixes are ready for radio or film and tv.

As a songwriter and she is a joy to work with. She has a great ear for melodies, and has original lyrical ideas that inspire me. I am always excited when I get to work with her.

Flaviya has a methodic and professional approach to producing, mixing and mastering. Every decision she makes has a reason 'why' and her extensive knowledge guarantee a quality product. As a producer, Flaviya understands how important it is to have a modern sound while being able to hook the listener. I was delighted with the mastering she did for a House remix I released last year. I highly recommend her services for my peers in the music industry. - Mashado, DJ and Producer.

I worked with Flaviya as a producer and I can tell from my experience that she delivers high quality work beyond expectations at market levels. She has an ear for latest sounds that only few producers have, is truly gifted as a creative and very musically knowledgeable and is very meticulous and organized in her work.

Interview with Duck The Bass

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am making a lot of songs with singer Queen Chameleon who has worked with KSHMR and records vocals for NATIVE INSTRUMENTS.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: When a project is done, I deliver final files (main mix, acapella, instrumental, TV track) in WAV 4824, WAV 4416, AIFF, and MP3 formats. And a folder of stems in WAV 4824. The song will be ready for distribution, synch placements and live shows programming.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I love building a whole new world for a given song

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Have a clear strategy for your song - whether it's gonna be made as an artist release, or a song for sync placements. If it's a remix, have a clear strategy if it's gonna be a remix to target DJs or a Dance version of your song to support the original release.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: My Barefoot monitors, the MOTU audio interface, Telefunken 251 microphone, laptop, midi controller.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I've been in music since I was 6 years old. Producing professionally for the last 6 years.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: I always ask for references to understand the vision an artist or songwriter has in their head for the song. I do lots of ear training listening to latest releases in Dance and Pop genres to stay updated with the current sound trends and record labels' sound, which is extremely important in Electronic and Pop music. I listen to over 1000 artists a year to be aware of trends and stay competitive, and at the same time bring something unique. I watch masterclasses all the time by the best professionals like Jaycen Joshua to keep learning new techniques and stay in a great shape.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I work on Barefoot monitors, one of the best brands of monitors on the market. It is essential for making dance music to hear the entire frequency range starting from 20Hz. I use the MOTU interface, a brand widely used for live playback by top artists like Ariana Grande. I use SHURE SRH1840 headphones. I produce and mix in Ableton Live, do vocal editing in ProTools and can work in Logic Pro X if the client's project comes from that DAW.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Daft Punk, Diplo, Jaycen Joshua, Illangelo, Calvin Harris, Dave Pensado, Disclosure, Max Martin

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: Music production, remixing, vocal editing.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: Tasteful, unique, melodic, catchy

  23. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  24. A: Tayo Joyce, a great singer and producer. Very diligent, creative and reliable. We were studying together music production in the past, and made some songs in collaboration.

  25. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  26. A: How to send me vocal files. I work in 4824, so vocals need to be preferably in the same format.

  27. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  28. A: I am proud of my "Disco Ball" release on United Music Hits record label. It has hit 176000 streams to this day. And my Electro Swing releases were added to ElectroSwing Top50 on Spotify. All projects produced by me.

  29. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  30. A: Combine both

  31. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  32. A: People think that a producer is just having fun making music, when in reality it is a very time-consuming job with multiple tasks that all require enough attention. Any project for a producer requires financial investments.

  33. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  34. A: What is the strategy for their song.

  35. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  36. A: I like working with independent artists that need help with bringing their songs to life and sound unique and competitive on playlists.

  37. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  38. A: When you record vocals to a fully produced track, start mixing the track from scratch again to give space to the vocals.

  39. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  40. A: I work usually on Pop and Dance songs, originals and remixes. I have experience producing for sync.

  41. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  42. A: Melody writing, music production, vocal production, vocoder programming.

  43. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  44. A: I bring the right sound for a song. I hear what type of arrangement and instrumentation can benefit the vocal and add more emotions to songwriting.
