Endorse Arnold AldanaInterview with Arnold Aldana
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My brother and I have finished and released an EP earlier this year.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently writing and producing singles I’ve been working on.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When do you need your project by?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Piano, laptop, some sort of generator to have power for my laptop, my mic, wifi modem if possible so I can upload all of the songs I’ve been writing.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started singing when I was 16 but started vocal lessons at 18. I’ve been writing songs, singing and performing live for the past 14 years.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Lady Gaga, I lover her creativity and uniqueness. I’d love to learn her songwriting process.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: As far as singing goes, vocal performance in a session goes farther than vocal technique. A song can be written extremely well but if the emotion isn’t there the song won’t be as amazing as it should be.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on Pop, alternative, singer/songwriter, rock, dance, electronic or house music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a pretty strong falsetto.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like bringing raw emotion to the song, I like to put myself in that moment of what the writer was feeling when they wrote the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Analyze the lyrics and song to understand the emotion I need to bring to the song if I haven’t written it. I go through the song then record and try different ways to sing certain parts.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio, I record my vocals on a Shure SM7B with a Soyuz Launcher for gain and a Universal Audio Apollo Twin Interface. I use Logic Pro.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mark Ronson, David Guetta, Avicii, so many more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Vocals, songwriting
