My name is Zayn Mufti and I'm a music composer and sound designer for games, film, TV, podcasts, and more. Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. We can all get along.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The job not finished until you love what you hear.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Cinematic and hybrid orchestral, but I've created all sorts of music for myself or for other clients like funk, RnB, rock, corporate, folk, you name it!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding and being inspired by one's vision for their project. I've always felt that I can pick up on the clients style quickly and dive into their vision.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my punchy emotional style and well diversified ear.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the project, but for original music and sound design, I'll first go over inspiration, vision and references with the client and then talk about timing and project deadlines. After that I'll dive into creating demos for the client to make sure everything is up to spec and proceed with more edits from there. If the client isn't happy, I'm not satisfied.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm rocking Yamaha HS5 studio monitors powered by an MA AIR 192|14. I use the Keylab Essential 61, KORG Volca Sample and Arturia MiniFreak as well a large range of effect pedals for my work.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I look up to and am inspired by focused artists dedicated to their craft, Olafur Arnalds is one that comes to mind.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I provide original music and sound design services for film, games, animation, and much more.
