For four years I was the pianist/keyboardist with the band Badbadnotgood. Now I run a music studio in Toronto where I compose and produce music across multiple genres. My name is James, and I work under the moniker Projectwhatever. I began my musical journey studying piano and contemporary music at Humber College in Toronto and now I own a small studio where I produce, compose, record, mix and master. After a brief stint teaching music at the Global Music Institute in India, I went on to work with Badbadnotgood as painist/keyboardist for four years—with whom I performed with many artists including Daniel Caesar, Charlotte Day Wilson, Jonah Yano, Little Simz, Denzel Curry among others. I spent years on the road performing at big venues and festivals, but I also spent a lot of time in the studio which is where I discovered my love for recording and production.
