Alex L. Price is a composer who specializes in creating uniquely tailored music for media with an insight for narrative, character and emotional detail. Originally from the LA area, Alex has recently graduated with a master's of music at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana; studying in the Music Scoring for Visual Media program under Larry Groupé (The Contender, The Outpost), Steven Wayne Thomas (Child’s Play, The Outpost), Brad Ritchie (Arrow, The Flash) and Richard Marvin (U571, Six Feet Under, Surrogates). She has worked on numerous short film and game projects.

She was also chosen for Film Independent’s Project Involve program in 2022, where she worked on a new short film score to The Bluest Hour (dir. by Logan Jackson - My Hero, Leonetty) that premiered in early 2023 at the LA Live Regal Cinema in Los Angeles, California. In the past, Alex’s work in 2020 on It's Not a Big Deal (dir. by Giselle Arely) won a “Best Original Music” award at the Association of Filmmakers at ASU Film Festival.

Alex's unique background in jazz brings a different sensibility to her composed music, focusing on groove, rhythm, and improvisational techniques as core to the compositional process.

Aside from work, Alex loves to make music, play video games, watch films, read books, and anything to do with storytelling. She is also a trans woman and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
