Interview with Da Home Music
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One artist came with just a melody voice note. We built the track, wrote the topline, mixed/mastered, and handled rollout. It hit editorial playlists and tripled their monthly listeners.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Developing new artists, producing an EP in Dolby Atmos, and expanding our sample pack series and educational content for creators.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, and we love collaborating. We’re part of a trusted network of writers, engineers, and session musicians.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid. Analog gives warmth and soul. Digital gives flexibility and speed. We use both—strategically.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We’ll treat your project like it’s our own. No shortcuts. No templates. Just honest, elite-level work that moves the needle.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Turning raw emotion into sound—and seeing artists light up when they hear their vision come to life.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Can you make it sound like [insert famous artist]?" Yes—then we’ll make it sound like you, but better.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That making hits is just about mixing or beats. It’s about emotion, structure, branding, and how the music lives beyond the studio.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s your vision? What references inspire you? What’s your goal with this release? How involved do you want to be in the process?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for chemistry, not just gear. A hit needs trust, creative flow, and someone who gets your sound and your goals.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro, UAD Apollo Twin, Neumann TLM 103, Ableton Live, Focal Solo6 Be monitors.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Over 10 years in the industry, producing and mixing for artists across Latin America and the U.S. We built Da Home to centralize talent, experience, and vision in one creative hub.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean, deep, modern, and emotionally charged. We care about detail, groove, and creating sonic moments that elevate the story behind the song.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: We’d love to work with Rauw Alejandro or Feid. They constantly evolve, take sonic risks, and balance mainstream appeal with underground vibes.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more. Instead of overloading a beat, focus on 1–2 memorable elements and give them space. Simplicity + intention = timeless.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Urban Latin (reggaetón, trap, afro), electronic, pop, R&B, funk and experimental fusions. We adapt to the artist, but always raise the bar.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Transforming raw ideas into polished, competitive records that connect emotionally and work commercially—without losing the artist’s identity.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A signature sound that feels fresh but familiar, hooks that stick, industry-level sonics, and a deep understanding of what makes people press “repeat.”
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: We start with a creative call to understand the artist’s vision. Then we build the instrumental, write melodies/lyrics if needed, record, mix, master, and map a smart release strategy.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Hybrid setup: Analog warmth + digital precision. Treated rooms, high-end monitors (Focal, NS10s), UAD plugins, SSL preamps, Neumann mics, Dolby Atmos ready.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Producers like Tainy, Kaytranada, Skrillex, and Max Martin inspire us—each with their own genius for blending innovation, groove, and hit-making instinct.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We produce full tracks from scratch, write toplines, mix/master in stereo or Dolby Atmos, and design release strategies that make the music hit both emotionally and commercially.
