Gina Drew

Experimental Audio Engineer

Gina Drew on SoundBetter

I've recorded vocals beside a waterfall and turned a mixing console into a synthesizer. While everyone else just adds basic presets onto your work, I'll come up with entirely new ways to make your sound stand out!

Whether I'm recording, editing, mixing, or mastering, I'll always make the process interesting with creative approaches to unique problems. My goal is to help your music realize its full potential, and sometimes that means breaking a few rules.

Interview with Gina Drew

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Never do something because it looks right. All that matters is how it sounds.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I prefer to work with what's around me. I keep a small recording kit in my car, and have a decent mixing setup, but really my environment is my toolkit. Why worry about expensive vintage gear when I can turn an old parking garage into an amazing reverb!

  5. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  6. A: I'm really inspired by Sylvia Massey. Her creative approach as an audio engineer always challenges me to push boundaries.
